Add Knovel as a Search Engine

Add Knovel Search directly to your Internet Explorer or Firefox Browsers as a Search Plugin.

Add Knovel Search to your Firefox Browser:

1. ›› Download this zip file.
2. Open the zip file in the pop up window
3. Open your broswer and paste the following path url C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins
4. Copy and Paste the file from download named "moz-knovel.zip " into your searchplugins folder
5. Close and Restart Firefox
6. The Knovel Search plugin will show up in your list of search engines on your search toolbar, use the dropdown to select Knovel

    

Add to Internet Explorer:

See the instructions below to add Knovel to your choice of search engines.

1. Click on the drop down arrow next to the Search Toolbar and select Find More Providers...
   (If this dropdown option is not available, click here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/searchguide/en-intl/default.mspx)
2. This page contains a box titled "Create Your Own".
3. Add Knovel as a custom search engine by entering the following URL: http://www.knovel.com/web/portal/basic_search?
   _EXT_KNOVEL_BASIC_SEARCH_bs_query={TEST}&src={referrer:source?} 
4. For box number #4 - specify the name as "Knovel"
5. Then press install and the Knovel Search will be added to your IE7 Search
6. After closing and restarting your browser, select Knovel from the dropdown
